Fair Clean Up Day

We have sent letters to all our 4-H Superintendents, we hope to see you at our supper and meeting next Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming fair!

4-H entry tags are now available to be picked up at our office. We DO NOT have any open class tags!

State Fair 4-H Live Animal & In-Person Contest Registration OPEN

State Fair 4-H Live Animal & In-Person Contest Registration

4-H'ers planning to exhibit a live animal or participate in an in-person contest at the Nebraska State Fair must register State Fair 4-H Live Animal & In-Person Contest Registration. is where they can be made! Entries will be due by 5:00 P.M. on August 10, 2017!

This includes youth participating in any of the following shows or contests:

  • Beef
  • Sheep
  • Swine
  • Meat goats
  • Poultry
  • Rabbits
  • Dog
  • Dairy Judging Contest
  • Dog Skillathon
  • Livestock Premier Exhibitor
  • Presentations Contest
  • Public Speaking Contest

Registration must be completed by the family and must be paid for using a credit card. There are no other options for payment. Rodeo Arena Open for Saunders County Fair Horse Practice

The Rode Arena will be available for use by 4-Hers wanting to practice from now until the night of Tuesday, July 18. Then starting Again on Sunday, July 23 morning until the night of Monday, July 24 to practice.

Volunteers Needed for State Fair 4-H Fashion Show

The Fashion Show is Monday, September 4 at the Heartland Event Center, State Fairgrounds, Grand Island. We need assistance in three areas: 1) Registration, 2) Hostesses, and 3) Tabulation.

For the 4-H Fashion Show, which again this year includes both garments constructed and garments purchased, those helping with registration and as a hostess will need to be present by 7:30 a.m., while those helping with tabulation will need to be present by 8:45 a.m. Registration helpers will be finished by 9:15 a.m., while those helping as a hostess and in tabulation should be done by 12 noon.

Waggin Tails Dog Club Meetings

The Waggin Tail Dog club will begin meeting on Sunday nights at 6:30 PM at the Saunders County Fair. Feel free to contact Sue Debois if you have more quetions!

Shooting Sports Practice

BB Gun & Air Rifle practice will start on MOnday, July 3 at 6:00 in the Commercial Building. Other practice dates include July 10th & July 17th. Any shooting sports members planning on entering the fair are welcome to participate.

Friends of Saunders County 4-H and Extension Foundation Silent Auction Fundraiser

  • Rain Barrel Silent Auction Fundraiser
  • Each Club can make a rain barrel, potted arrangement, or any other outdoor decor to donate to the Silent Auction at the Fair!
  • Rain barrel is any above ground container modified to receive, store, and distribute rooftop runoff for non-drinking uses
  • Clubs can construct (or purchase pre-made barrels) to prime and paint them as well
