Happy Valentine's Day Band Families!
February is almost over which means March is almost here! With that comes several upcoming events and performances that you won't want to miss. There are some new and traditional events that we want to make sure you are aware of and hope you can join us for this season. Please read this entire newsletter for important information regarding all upcoming Band dates.

Mr. Dan Valkema to visit FHS Bands!
Carl Sandburg High School Concert Band Festival
The FHS Symphonic Wind Ensemble will be attending and performing at the Carl Sandburg High School Concert Band Festival on Saturday, February 29th at 10:00 AM. The Symphonic Winds is using this festival to get valuable feedback from an excellent judging panel as well as a great performance recording to be used for our Superstate application. Families and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend this event. The working itinerary is available here.
There is a tentative dress rehearsal scheduled (if needed) for Friday, February 28th from 3:30-5:00 PM in the Fenton Band room.
Tri-District Band Festival
A few details regarding this event:
- Sophomores will need to bring a package of cookies
- Students are expected to wear concert dress.
- Call time will be 5:40 PM
- The student concert etiquette rubric is here.
- The event will be over at approximately 8:30 PM
