Attention Seniors & Parents

Countdown to College is an annual event to support high school seniors in completing three crucial college enrollment steps: residency, FAFSA, and applications. Also, some North Carolina Colleges will wave application fees. No particular fee waiver form is required; all students need to do is apply to college using their CFNC account.

RCS College Application Month Activity Schedule

10/16-17

  • Senior Conferences (Individual Conferences with students)
  • If you need a recommendation letter from Mrs. Ragland, this would be the perfect time to have your senior resume and Bragg sheet ready to share.


10/18: Kick-off to College Application Week

  • It's a Jeans Day!--Wear your favorite college shirt to school
  • Senior Assembly--(Presenters: State Employees' Credit Union, PCC, Averett University, RCS Alunms, and Person County Education Foundation)


October 21-25: Free College Application Week


10/21: College Applications 101
  • Mrs. Ragland will visit senior classes to share information concerning how to complete college applications, ways to apply, and information students need to have when applying to college.


10/22

  • Mrs. Ragland will visit senior classes to share information concerning the FAFSA and Residency Determination Service (RDS)

10/23 & 10/24

  • Application, RDS, & FAFSA Workshops available
