21st Century After School Program (7th and 8th Grade Students ONLY)

We will be offering an after school tutoring program to all of our 7th and 8th grade students in the areas of reading and mathematics. Applications were given to students on the first day of school. The PHS after school tutoring program will be Monday through Thursday from 2:40-4:40pm. A bus will be available to pick up and drop off students to their home sites and a hot meal will given to them during their time in the program. If a parent has any questions, please leave a message for Coach Williams.

Laptop Rollout

Weekly laptop rollouts for the month of September!

If you would like to get a new chrome-book this school year and you didn't come to laptop rollout, please see Ms. Hollie, our librarian. Parents are required to come to school and sign the contract. Please come any Tuesday or Thursday from 7:30-10:00am. Once the contract is signed and fees are paid, the student will receive a chrome-book within a week.

Tips for Taking the ACT

  • Relax. Don’t panic if you are having trouble answering the questions! You do not have to answer all the questions correctly to get a good score. Take a few moments to relax if you are stressed. Put your pencil down, close your eyes, take deep breaths, and clear your mind. When you get back to the test you will feel better.
  • Do the easy stuff first. You do not have to answer the questions from each section in order. It is better to skip the hard ones in each test section and come back to them later. Keep moving so that you don’t waste valuable time. If you get stuck, move on!

Curriculum Corner

Please be sure to check out some resources for math on our district website, These resources will help you support your child with homework and the newly adopted math curricula. Once you go to the district website, under Departments, go to Curriculum; then click Parent Resource Center for Mathematics. Choose a grade level to view. In the resource center, you will find lesson videos for missions/modules, homework videos, activities, parent newsletters, etc.
