Article II Purpose & Goals
Our purpose is to connect other people who enjoy performing baton twirling. We want to get together to share ideas and work out public performances to raise money. The profits will go to University of Iowa Children's Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network.
Section Two
Williamsburg High School Twirlers Club will abide by and support the policies of Williamsburg High School.
Article III Membership
Membership is open to any student, staff, or faculty of Williamsburg High School interested in promoting baton twirling to benefit The University of Iowa Children's Hospital or the Children’s Miracle Network. There is no membership fee.
Section Two: Policy for Members
All members need to be at each practice and performance. Anyone who misses 50% or more of the meetings, practices, or performances will be dropped from the membership.
Article IV Officers
The officers are president, vice president, secretary, treasurer: this is the executive committee. There will also be a faculty adviser All officers are elected by the members in the Spring. The officers hold one year terms.
The faculty adviser will oversee the club from year to year. They are appointed by the faculty. This will be a two year term.
The adviser and executive committee will select a choreographer from a list of applicants based on their qualifications. An audition will be held. Members and non-members may apply. This position is for one year and may be renewed.
The president will conduct the meetings and work closely with the faculty adviser They will represent the club in the school and the community. They will set up meetings and events.
The vice president will work with the president and preside when the president is absent.
The secretary will keep accurate record of each meeting as well as each event, maintain a membership directory and take care of any correspondence on behalf of the club.
The treasurer will be responsible for keeping an accurate record of transactions, collect any money and co-sign checks along with the adviser. All money will be deposited within 48 hours after collection. They will develop a budget and solicit funds if needed.
Section Two: Policy for Officers
Each officer must maintain a 2.00 or higher in GPA to hold their position. If an officer does not hold a 2.00 or higher in GPA, then they will be put on probation for 1 term to raise their GPA back to a 2.00 or higher. If you do not meet that requirement you will have to step down and the faculty adviser will appoint a new officer for that position. Should an officer be unable to serve, the faculty adviser will appoint a member to their office. This policy applies to the choreographer if he/she is a student at Williamsburg High School. All officers need to be at each practice and performance. Anyone who misses 50% or more of the meetings, practices, or performances will be dropped from their position and membership.
