Bernie's Book Bank Donations:
The D303 donation drive for Bernie’s Book Bank is from April 8th - 19th. Bernie’s Books is one of Chicago’s largest literacy programs. The organization process and distributes quality children’s books to at-risk youth throughout the Chicagoland area. Please consider bringing in new and gently used children’s books for birth through 6th grade to Wredling during the donation drive. Parents or students may place books in the collection bins located in the front hallway. D303’s goal for the 2019 donation drive is 20,000 books. Every contribution, even one book, will help us reach our goal! ***Unfortunately, the group does not collect activity/coloring books, video game guides, young adult, or adult books.
Please Send In:
Any toilet paper tubes you would like to share to the WMS LRC. We are collecting for the upcoming D303 Maker Fair!
HELP WANTED!
I am looking for a parent to help us develop an app for the Chromebook that would allow us to track student feelings on the Mood Meter. Ideally, they would have their own Google login for the app, and then track their emotion at the start and end of a period of time. If you have that skill or know of a local company who could help us, please contact Tim Loversky at
tim.loversky@d303.org.
Fire Update:
I want to update parents as to where we are with our fire investigation. We are still conducting our investigation and cannot comment on specifics. However, we have tightened our security and safety features in the building to prevent future issues. Safety is our first goal, and we continue to improve our practices to ensure student safety.

WMS Spotlight on Hunter Szatkowski!
Hunter Szatkowski could not have been more excited to donate her hair, which will be used to make wigs for children undergoing cancer treatments.
With everyone's generous donations, Hunter raised $7,360.00 and the Cal’s Angels Just Shave It event brought in over $40,000.00!
We’re REALLY proud of Hunter and her caring heart! And that of all of our students who participated in Cal’s Angels Just Shave It event!
If you have a student you would like us to highlight, please email Tim Loversky
