Independent Project Based Learning!
Hello Dragon Families!
Now that we have wrapped up the third quarter seminars, staff are excited to see what students will choose to learn about during the 4th quarter! For our PBL 101 and PBL 201 students, this is a huge step toward becoming an independent project-based learner and advancing to the 301 level.
All JDAL students will pursue independent projects for the remainder of Crisis Schooling. This means that each student will work through the 4 Steps of Gold Standard Project-Based Learning from home, with virtual help from the advisors. All students have already worked through this process during the PBL 101/201 seminars, but we have created The Ultimate Student Guide to Project-Based Learning to help students as they complete each step on their own.
This is a live document, with additions being added multiple times a day. Staff continue to develop additional resources that will be added to this document as soon as possible.
All advisors have reached out to their students to set up a weekly check-in, where they can chat about the project details and brainstorm ideas together. Please make sure your child has responded to their advisor so they get the help they might need.
With gratitude,
Jen + the JDAL Staff

Beca's Vlog
Beca is starting a vlog YouTube channel. This vlog will be a look into the life of a teenager and how she deals with everything that is going on regarding the coronavirus outbreak. It is specifically highlighting the new Safer At Home (SAH) order that began last week.
Not only will it be about her life, but her mom will also be giving mini lessons about how to deal with depression, anxiety, etc. She will also be having student highlights about how other students are dealing with everything.
This vlog is meant to help you and let you know that you are not alone in this struggle.
