Happy Holidays!

The Holiday season is upon us! With the end of the Mogadore football season, the Mogadore Wildcat Band Program is getting ready for our upcoming program holiday programs! . In addition, our sixth grade band is preparing for their performance at Christmas in the Village at the Library! I hope all of you had a restful, wonderful Thanksgiving and continue to have a blissful holiday season. See you at our events!

Booster Information

Meeting-Thursday, December 12, 2019

The Mogadore Music Boosters will be having their monthly meeting Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the MHS Community Room.

We will be discussing some of our upcoming events and volunteer opportunities! If you are a band parent, or know a potential band parent, for students in grades 5-12 and would like to get involved, please let us know!

Come grab some sweet treats our holiday themed meeting and enter to win a raffle prize for your attendance! See you there!

Basketball Concessions Volunteers

We are still in need of some assistance for our Basketball Concessions for the 2019-2020 season. As a reminder, your parent assistance earns you trip credit for our future (2021) trips!

Acme Cash Back Program-Time is Running Out!

Our band program is now enrolled in Acme Cash Back until the end of the 2019 year. If you have any receipts from your shopping trips--please send them with your student to put in our receipt bin in the music room!

Congratulations, Mogadore Wildcat Marching Band!

We had a very memorable season--with some hot days and some very frigid temperatures at the end! I am so proud of the work put in this season by not only our band members but our entire athletic team. I feel an immense pride to able to work with such wonderful students, staff, and administrators. Students, I look forward to seeing your work in other arenas throughout this school year! Go Cats!

Pep Band

As the basketball season is starting up, our High School Band Students will be getting ready for Pep Band. Our first performance is Friday, December 13. Report time is 6:00 PM.

Our second performance will be Tuesday, December 17 with a 6:00 PM report time as well. We will be getting new music ready for our next performance in January! Go Cats!

High School Solo and Ensemble

A number of high school students have already started lessons for Solo and Ensemble competition which is Saturday, January 25 at Springfield High School. The cost is $19 for a solo and $24 for an ensemble (split amongst ensemble members). Students will be receiving confirmation of their participation before Christmas Break for registration. Fees for the event are due with their confirmation request. Checks payable to Mogadore Band Boosters.

Mogadore Junior-Senior High Winter Concert

Sunday, December 15- Junior/Senior High Winter Concert

Performing Groups: Junior High Band, Junior High Jazz Band, High School Concert Band, and High School Jazz Band

Where: Mogadore High School Music Room

Performance Time: 2:00 PM

Arrival Time: 1:15 PM Students must enter through the front doors of the High School and will be escorted to their “green” rooms for the performance

Concert Dress: Black shoes, black socks, black pants, white blouse/dress shirt.

O.H. Somers Elementary Instrumental Music News

Fifth Grade Band

Students are doing a great job in beginning band classes! I am excited for their upcoming performance in December. We will be transitioning to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday full band class for the next three weeks to best prepare for the concert. All beginning band students will need their instruments on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until Winter Break!

Sixth Grade Band News

We are now gearing up for the O.H. Somers Winter Concert Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in the O.H. Somers Gymnasium as well as our annual performance at Christmas in the Village Saturday, December 14 in the Mogadore Public Library. Students are reminded classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and need to remember their instruments for music class lessons.

Christmas in the Village Performance-Sixth Grade Band

The Sixth Grade Band members will be performing at the Mogadore Public Library this Saturday, December 14 at 4:00 PM for Mogadore’s Christmas in the Village Celebration. We will be performing some holiday tunes to get everyone in the festive spirit! Students are to report at 3:45 PM to the library in festive attire! I look forward to seeing you at the event!

Congratulations, Fourth Grade Students!

Our fourth grade students did a phenomenal job at their concert in November! Not only were their vocal selections well done, the students played clearly with good tone for all of their recorder repertoire! Bravo, and keep up the fantastic work!
