By Samuel Montes Stanton
Nelson mandela and FW DeKlerk trying to get equal rights.
These two men had just accomplished a political miracle, transforming their country into a multi-racial democracy without the civil war that so many had feared. Along the way, they had jointly collected the Nobel Peace Prize. F.W. DeKlerk, South Africa's last white president, said on the BBC that he and Mandela had "become good friends" over the years. Together the worked together to get equal rights for African. The worked together because they both hated how the Africans got treated so they worked together to stop apartheid.
