We Are The United Nations Global Solidarity Movement For Gender Equality
HeForShe is an invitation for men and people of all genders to stand in solidarity with women to create a bold, visible and united force for gender equality. The men of HeForShe aren't on the sidelines. They're working with women and with each other to build businesses, raise families, and give back to their communities.
Created by UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality that invites men and boys to act for a more equal world. HeForShe provides targeted platform where a global audience can engage and advocate for the achievement of gender equality in our lifetime. The Mental Health Professional's Role in Threat Assessment (Virtual Training)
Training provided by Megan Eliot, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist (bio).
This session will be held from 12pm - 1:30pm. It will focus on the mental health clinician's perspective during the threat assessment process. Dr. Eliot will review the role of the school mental health professional and how they integrate into a multidisciplinary approach to assess the seriousness of threats and develop an intervention plan that addresses the underlying problems. Dr. Eliot uses the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) model which is a gold standard for the threat assessment process.
(The Zoom link will be emailed closer to the date of training). If you need any additional information, please email Mary Pupazzoni at pupazzonim@wcsu.edu.
Intended Audience: This training is appropriate for mental health professionals who work on school threat assessment teams.

Administrators: Information about Safety Care Recertification and Initial Safety Care Training and staff assigned to those trainings has been or will be sent via email for your review. All staff with current Safety Care Training, or those who will be required to attend Initial Safety Care Training will hear from the Safety Care Team over the next few weeks.

Please reach out with any questions to Emily Belliveau or Amy LeQuire. Thank you!
Equity Moments
What is National Hispanic Heritage Month?
National Hispanic Heritage Month is when we celebrate the culture and contributions of Hispanic Americans. It began Sept. 17, 1968 when Congress passed a law proclaiming the week of September 15 and 16 as Hispanic Heritage Week. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan extended it to Hispanic Heritage Month, according to History.com.
On Sept. 14, 1989, President George H.W. Bush was the first president to declare September 15 to October 15 as National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Every US president since Lyndon Johnson has made a National Hispanic Heritage Month proclamation. President Bush said in his 1989 proclamation:
“Hispanic Americans have enriched our nation beyond measure with the quiet strength of closely knit families and proud communities.”
