Dear Parents,

We continue to be grateful to you for your support and partnership in ensuring student learning continues as we all adhere to the stay at home order. We know that many of you are not in ideal situations and want to remind you that by communicating with us, we are better equipped to offer the support needed by your child and your family to ensure success. Our primary concern continues to be the emotional and physical health of students, just like in school. Please let us know if there is any way we can help.

La Mesa Named a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School

For the second year in a row, La Mesa Junior High has been named a CKH National Showcase School. Each year the Flippen Group recognizes campuses across the United States who exemplify the implementation of the Capturing Kid' Hearts processes. These processes are used to build positive, productive relationships with and among students across the campus. We have been implementing CKH for six years and it has become an integral part of our positive, student centered culture.

Progress Report Grades are Posted

Please be sure to log into your Parents Portal account to see the posted progress report grades. This will show you where your child is at in regards to their classes. You may notice that your child has missing assignments where you thought they had turned something in. On Google Classroom, students can hit submit, but actually submit nothing, making it appear to you that they have completed their assignment.

Please be sure to reach out directly with teachers first with any questions about grades. If you need further assistance, the next step is to reach out to the counselor.

Congratulations to La Mesa Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Jenni Frias

The data collected from the Census has a direct impact on the number of seats our state will have in the House of Representatives and how much federal funding we will receive for the next ten years for schools, health facilities, roads, and other important infrastructure needs.

As of April 9, 2020 Los Angeles County only reported 42.9% responses. The California Self-Response rate was 47.2%.
