We Engage We Educate We Inspire
Hello Stallions!
We had a great week at the Ranch! Pirate day in strings with Mrs. Berra was a hit! 5th graders learned a pirate story to remember how to hold the bow, shouted "Arrr!" In the silences in the music, and sang a chantey between exercises. In music with Mrs. Munley our Kindergarteners pretended to be grizzly bears as they worked on singing in loud and soft voices. Mrs. Nguyen and Mrs. Linden’s 4th Graders have been impressive with both how nicely they are getting along with each other but also their teamwork during a science lab on tributaries. There are just a few of the many successes at the Ranch last week!
Most of our students who walk to school use the crosswalk on Key Biscayne right in front of the parking lot. For this reason, the front parking lot is closed to vehicles at arrival and dismissal times. If you need to park at those times, there are spots available along the pickup/drop-off driveway at the marquee. You are also welcome to park in the neighborhood across the street.
Show your Stallion Style on Fridays with a super cool new shirt! They are on sale in the office for $15.
Our Health Office is still in need of gently used children’s clothes, especially in smaller sizes, as well as new children’s underwear. When accidents happen at school we like to be able to have the kids change into clean clothes. If you’ve recently cleaned out your closets and find yourself with items that we could use, your donation would be appreciated!
Gilbert Public Schools is holding a Parent University class at Sonoma Ranch on Wednesday at 5:30 pm. The topic is Bullying Prevention, and it will be facilitated by Winged Hope, an excellent resource on this topic and many others. If you are interested in attending please click the following link! http://www.gilbertschools.net/cms/One.aspx?portalId=63564&pageId=3810736
Parent/Teacher conferences will start not long after our return from Fall Break. We will again be utilizing an online scheduling system for scheduling of conferences. You will receive an email after Fall Break via school messenger with a link to follow to schedule your conferences this year. You will be able to select your student’s teacher(s) and then pick a day/time for the conference. It is a pretty easy process, but if you run into any trouble, please contact us for assistance.
This week our schedule is a little different than normal. We have a full day of school on Wednesday. Students will dismiss at 3:30 PM on Wednesday. On Friday we have a half-day dismissal with students heading home at 12:30 PM to begin Fall Break!
Our Kinderstallions are learning the color black this week. On Thursday we are encouraging everyone to wear some black!
Fall Break begins on Friday the 6th and continues through the 17th. Students return on the Wednesday the 18th of October!
We are always interested in your feedback. If you have thoughts you'd like to share, please consider completing a Feedback Form by clicking on the button below. Thank you!
