iReady
i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction. The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs.
Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.
i-Ready Personalized Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so your student can learn at a pace that is just right for them. These lessons are fun and interactive to keep your student engaged as they learn.

● reduce stress
● make it easier to connect with friends and teachers
● support learning

Hello and Welcome Back from Mrs. Juhasz (school counselor)
As sad as I am to say goodbye to summer, I am so much more excited to say hello to all of you and welcome you back to the 2023-24 school year! I would also like to proudly announce, that I am full time this year here at Chase STEMM Academy.
This school year, we will be bringing a few new programs to our school, one of them being Toledo Public Schools first School Facility Dog, Hugo. I hope you have had the opportunity to read the information that was sent home about Hugo the first week of school. Hugo is a 2 year-ten month-old yellow Labrador Retriever, and he is a bundle of love. He is also an (unpaid) employee of Chase STEMM Academy and will be on campus every day with me. Hugo has had hundreds of hours of training through The Ability Center’s Assistance Dog program, so he is ready for his new job. He will not only provide comfort to our students, but perform tasks to enrich your child’s learning experience. If you have any questions regarding Hugo, please feel free to contact me.
We will also be partnering with Good Grief of Northwest Ohio this year to provide grief group counseling service to our students. Group sessions will take place once a week for an hour, for six weeks. These sessions will take place during school hours and groups will be established by grade level. Please look for a survey that will be sent home this week. If you are interested in these services, please complete the survey and have your student return it to school.
As your child's school counselor, I am here to help all students develop to their utmost potential by providing each student with services that foster the skills and attitudes necessary to achieve success in their academic, career, and personal/social development. It is my hope that this school year will be full of successful experiences for all students. Please take advantage of the services the counseling office has to offer. I look forward to meeting you and helping in any way that I can.

Helping your Child Succeed In Shool
A nutritious breakfast fuels up kids and gets them ready for the day. In general, kids who eat breakfast have more energy and do better in school. They're also less likely to miss school, and make fewer trips to the school nurse with stomach complaints related to hunger.
Help boost your child's attention span, concentration, and memory with breakfast foods that are rich in whole grains, fiber, and protein, and low in added sugar. We also provide a nutritious breakfast here in the building beginning at 8:15 a.m.
Kids also need enough sleep to be alert and ready to learn all day. Most school-age kids need 9–12 hours of sleep a night. Bedtime problems can come up at this age for a variety of reasons. Homework, sports, after-school activities, games and TV, and hectic family schedules can lead to kids not getting enough sleep.
Lack of sleep can cause irritable or hyperactive behavior and might make it hard for kids to pay attention in class. It's important to have a consistent bedtime routine, especially on school nights. Leave enough time before lights-out for your child to unwind, and limit media use like TV, video games, and Internet access.
