A Note from the Principal
Tomorrow, September 27, marks the midpoint of our first quarter and the close of our first MAP testing window for 2019-2020. Our students worked hard to complete the tests to the best of their abilities, and I thank you for the support and encouragement you provided to your children the past few weeks. You can expect MAP Student Progress Reports on October 10. This will give you plenty of time to review prior to parent-teacher conferences in November. As a faculty, we decided to move the dates for parent-teacher conferences to November to allow for MAP testing and the first quarter to be completed.
With October just around the corner, it seems like schedules seem to get even more hectic. The year is definitely in full swing with many activities going on and clubs meeting each week--HSPT Prep Class, DARE, Girls on the Run, STEM Club, Robotics, Brain Brawl, Starry Knights Art Club, Young Rembrandts, Mad Science, and Scout groups. CYO sports teams are also enjoying successful seasons. SPB is a busy place, and it is impressive to see our students actively involved in a variety of academic activities as well as athletics.
In the midst of our busy lives at home and at school, be sure to take some time to reflect on the autumn beauty that will soon surround us as temperatures cool and the leaves change. Enjoy the splendor of this beautiful season that God has provided!
Blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal
ATTENTION: SHORTS SEASON EXTENDED!
With warm temperatures predicted to continue next week, we are extending the season for shorts beyond the typical October 1st date. Students may wear regular uniform shorts through Friday, October 4.

Playground/Lunchroom Volunteer Sign Ups
The links to sign up for playground/lunchroom supervision for parents/guardians of students in Grade 7 is now live!
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:00-1:00. We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Lunch/Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:00 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting students to the cafeteria from recess, and supervising in the cafeteria. Volunteers will be with one teacher and two "core" volunteers each day to help direct. Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the grade level link to pick a time convenient for you: Grade 7

PTO Room Parents Needed
We are still looking for a few more PTO Room Captains for several classrooms!
The PTO invites you to join the PTO Room Captain Program for your child’s classroom. We are looking for 2 parents per classroom. This is a simple way to take part in the school and PTO activities because it does not require a lot of time in the classroom. You would simply be the "point person" for your child's classroom in the event your child's teacher needs something. You will help communicate information and help distribute PTO Meeting information to your class.
If interested, please contact Kathy Andru at 440-622-8445 or via email at Lilgirl0429@yahoo.com
