There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 10th and Tuesday, October 11th. We will welcome back our students on Wednesday, October 12th for the start of the 2nd quarter!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

We are excited to be heading to the Pumpkin Patch for our first field trip of the school year! We will be visiting Little Munchkins Pumpkin Patch on October 14th. Permission slips for this trip have been sent home. These must be returned by the day before your child is scheduled to go. Those students without signed forms the day of the trip will not be allowed to attend.

Picture Retakes

Pine Ridge Prep's Picture RETAKE Day is coming up on October 19! If your child was absent on picture day OR you are dissatisfied with your child's portraits, you are welcome to have them retake their picture. If your child did have their picture taken in September and you are wanting retakes, you must return the original pictures you received.


The flyer below provides details on the different packages that are available for order. You may order online, or pay by cash or check. If paying by cash, you must provide the EXACT amount. We will not be able to make change. If paying by check, please make the check out to Strawbridge Studios. Paying online is the easiest! We will collect orders and payments at the school beginning October 10 and ending on picture day, October 19.

This Week We Are Learning To...

Math - 3 Year Olds

  • We are learning to identify and describe shapes (squares, circles, triangles, rectangles) so we can talk about and find things we are looking for.
  • We are learning to analyze, compare, create, and compose shapes based on knowledge of their attributes in order to develop problem-solving skills.


Math - 4 Year Olds

  • We are learning to identify and describe shapes (squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, cubes, cones, cylinders, and spheres) so we can talk about and find things we are looking for.
  • We are learning to analyze, compare, create, and compose shapes based on knowledge of their attributes in order to develop problem-solving skills.


Reading - 3 Year Olds

  • We are learning to ask and answer questions about a text so we can understand a text.
  • We are learning to use new words so we can build our vocabulary. (CL.IT.P3.3)
  • We are learning to identify parts of a book so we can understand the importance of books. (CL.L.p3.5)


Reading - 4 Year Olds

  • We are learning to ask and answer questions about a text so we can analyze details from the story. (CL.IT.P4.1)
  • We are learning to identify physical parts of a book so we can use a book correctly.
  • We are learning to show our thoughts with words and pictures so that we can write our names.


Social Studies - 3 Year Olds

  • We are learning to follow routines at school so we can be successful students.
  • We are learning to identify leaders at home so we can recognize leadership roles.
  • We are learning to recognize what makes a friend so we can have a positive impact on others.


Social Studies - 4 Year Olds

    • We are learning to recognize the rules at home and school so we can be good citizens.
    • We are learning to identify leaders at home and schools so we can recognize the influence of others in a group.
    • We are learning to recognize what makes a good friend so that we can have a positive impact on others.


    Science

    • We are learning to observe the changes of the weather so we can communicate about the weather.
    • We are learning how plants and animals change the environment and in seasons so we can explain how plants and animals change.
    • We are learning to observe different weather conditions so we know what clothes to wear when.


    Social/Emotional Learning

    • We are learning to identify feelings so that we know how others feel.
    • We are learning to identify if feelings are the same or different.
    • We are learning to recognize when something is an accident so that we can fix it.
    • We are learning to show we care by saying something kind or doing something helpful.

    Ci3T Weekly Parent Newsletter

    Purpose of Ci3T

    The purpose of the comprehensive, integrated, three-tiered (Ci3T) model of prevention at Pine Ridge Prep is to provide every preschooler and their family academic, behavioral, and social/emotional skills and knowledge by using the early childhood standards to ensure each student is kindergarten ready in the 21st Century.

    Home Depot Workshops

    Each month, Home Depot offers a fun workshop for kids! Show up toward the beginning of the session to ensure there are enough materials for your child. Children must be present to receive a kit. They get to keep their project, receive a free certificate of achievement, a workshop apron, and a commemorative pin (while supplies last). Can't make it to Home Depot for the kids' workshop? Why not bring the party home! Here are just a few of the ready to assemble kits you can buy and build at home. Homedepot.com also offers great kids' activities, videos, and how-to's!


    Workshops take place the first Saturday of each month from 9:00-12:00.

    COVID Protocols

    Please be sure to review both the COVID Update and the information on the Parent Resources page for the latest information from the CDC. Masks are encouraged, but not required. We will maintain strict sanitation protocols.

    Late Start

    Late Start is on FRIDAYS for this school year and the arival time will be at 9:30.
