Kody's Weekly
Cascadia Student Life Newsletter: 04.15.19 - 04.19.19
We're halfway through April already. Are you learning a lot? Don't let these college days slide by without making the most of them, both inside and outside of class. We have a lot happening on campus this week to help you be Kodiaks to the max:
Sally Kohn – Turning Adversaries into Allies
Mom. Writer. Activist. TED talker. Traveler. Keynote speaker. Author of #TheOppositeOfHate. Sally Kohn is a popular speaker at business conferences and college campuses talking about political division, hate, otherizing, diversity and identity — and how we can solve the deep problems of our past and present.
A regular columnist and commentator, Sally's writing has appeared in the Washington Post, New York Times, Rolling Stone, USA Today, Time, and many other outlets. Her three hit TED Talks have been viewed more than 4 million times and her work has been highlighted by outlets ranging from the Colbert Report to the National Review.
Sally‘s talk at Cascadia is about Turning Adversaries into Allies. With hilarious personal stories alongside poignant findings from science and research, Sally takes audiences on a journey to understand why we divide against one another — and the harm it does to our culture, our businesses and ourselves. And then points the way forward, giving audiences concrete steps for how they can combat hate and division in their own minds and in their lives.
