Growing, learning, and having fun!
Lexia and Dreambox
In many conferences several parents have ask what they can do at home to help their child. This year we are utilizing two online programs, Lexia for reading and Dreambox for math. These are individualized programs that students can work through independently anywhere there is an internet connection. Please look in your child's folder for the instruction paper on how to get started with these programs at home. The username and password is the same for both programs. Remember, this is something students should be doing independently. Encouragement is wonderful, giving answers won't really help them learn :)
Thank you to all of the parents that have been able to come meet with me this week! I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules. If we haven't been able to connect yet, please look for a note in your child's folder to determine a time that will work. Thank you!
Global Read ALoud
We are well on our way in our book, Fish by L.S. Mathews. So far in our story we have met our narrator, Tiger, and learned a little bit about Tiger's family. The book doesn't say if Tiger is a boy or a girl. It's interesting that we can all hear the same story but have different images in our mind. Ask your child what they think about Tiger and the story this far.
