Kevin's Past
Kevin Durant was a heavily recruited basketball player in high school. He went to the University of Texas and was drafted as the second pick to the Seattle Supersonics in 2007. He started wearing the number #35 in honor of his AAU coach, Charles Craig, when he was murdered at the age 35.
Kevin's High School Life
During high school, Kevin grew 7 inches, to his current height, 6'9. During that time, he played for the National Christian Academy and the Montrose Christian School, both in Maryland, and for the basketball powerhouse, OakHill Academy.
Outstanding Freshman
In his freshman year, Kevin started every single game.
He only played one year for the LongHorns before he decided to participate in the NBA Draft.
Naismith Award
During his one year, the Longhorns finished the season with a 25-10 record. He was the first ever freshman to win the Naismith College Player of the Year.
End of College Career
Kevin's jersey was later retired after he declared he was going to participate in the NBA Draft in 2007.
NBA Career
In 2007, Kevin Durant was 2nd overall pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft and was picked by the Seattle Supersonics. In his 1st NBA season, he was named "Rookie of the Year". After Kevin's first year, the Supersonics relocated from Seattle to Oklahoma City and were named the "Thunder". The Thunder eventually became an outstanding team in 2011-2012 season where they competed in the Finals against the Miami Heat and lost.
