Sunset Elementary Weekly News
August 28 - September 1
Mission: Sunset will educate and inspire students to thrive in an environment of change.
Message from Mrs. Hafey
I can not express how EXCITED I am for another year with the Sunset bunch! I am honored to call you my family! Words can explain how proud I am of ALL OF YOU in regards to our PARCC scores - but more so, the work you put in to lead our students to greater depths of learning! I look forward to each and every day - as I learn so much from you all!
SISU.....
Grit, Courage, deciding on a course of action and then sticking to that decision even despite repeated failures, resilience.....THIS IS US!
It has come to my attention that we may need to continue the Phonemic Awareness practice that we did last year - until we get a firm grip on Wonders.....Please be ready to begin this practice next week - starting with Week 1!
Classroom Communications
Please be sure to let Hafey know how you plan on communicating home! Remember, Bulldog Notebooks are a must for EVERY classroom! They must be sent home each night and students MUST be help accountable for their Bulldog Notebook each day! Therefore, please have an accountability system! If you have questions, please let me know!
Moby Max
I will be purchasing this program this week - hopefully Monday! Please be planning on giving the diagnostic math assessment! If you have questions, please come see me - as this will be our progress monitoring tool for Math!
Power Walks
Please conduct these with your classes the first week of school - I would like to have them completed by the end of this first week! Each of you should have received a Power Walks document - be sure to actively engage your students in this process! If you have questions - please let me know!
