What's Heating Up at Holy Spirit
January 25-29
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength -Deuteronomy 6:5-
Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Today’s Gospel describes how Jesus called his first disciples and the immediacy with which these men dropped everything to follow him. We can only begin to imagine what Jesus’ presence must have been like to invoke such a response in these first disciples. While a few of us might relate to such a radical conversion, many of us would find such a sudden change in ourselves or in another person unsettling. There are few things for which we would willingly drop everything. And yet this is the immediacy with which these first disciples responded to Jesus. These first disciples were willing to drop everything in order to make Jesus and the Kingdom of God the most important things in their lives.
How do we feel when someone asks us to drop everything to help him or her? For many of us, it is not easy to drop everything to respond to the needs of another.

2020-2021 Yearbook orders
Have you ordered your yearbook for this year?
In order for us to be able to maintain the price and be able to provide yearbooks we need to have a minimum order of 120 books. We are far from that goal.
Yearbooks are a special keepsake of your child's year of learning at Holy Spirit Catholic School. They are filled with the memories of friends, activities and events that are part of your child's life. Time goes quickly and memories fade but a yearbook will bring a smile, a laugh and help us to reminisce in years to come. Don't miss out on the chance to get a little piece of history at Holy Spirit School.
To order, go to the PowerSchool parent portal where fees are paid and select the option to add the yearbook to your cart. Payment must be made before your order is complete and placed. Cost of the yearbook is $25.00.

First Communion means that this will be the first time that a child is participating “fully” in the Mass by receiving the Eucharist. Just like we begin every Mass by praying the Penitential (Act of Contrition) to prepare our hearts to receive Jesus in the Eucharist, First Reconciliation must be completed prior to First Holy Communion.
Registration form here and deadline Friday, February 5. Please include a copy of your child’s BAPTISM CERTIFICATE and $30 registration fee. For more information, or to register, email: sacraments@olph.ca
