Classical Conversations Doylestown
Weekly Update - Week 11 - 12/8/15
Scripture for Meditation
“But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the first fruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.”
2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 (ESV)
Director Substitute this week
Many of you know that I will be away this week at training, so Heather Adler will be running the opening this week and helping coordinate the campus activities. She is a good friend and the Director in Newtown. She is also Courtney Olson's substitute so if you need anything, she'll be in class. Please give her a TON of help in my absence. Thank you!
Christmas Festivities
Many people have been asking what the plans are for the Christmas Party. Danika Dunn is working on an activity for all who are available on Saturday night and will hopefully have an update on Tuesday. So if you are planning to join us, please keep the evening open. However, many people are not able to attend so we are also planning on a large group get together before the next semester starts. The date and time for that is TBD, but will be sent out as soon as we have it finalized. So you have TWO opportunities to get connected with others in the community!
If you are interested in attending the Nutcracker at the Pennsylvania Ballet please speak with Gloria. There may be tickets available.
Childcare $ Due
If you have a child in the AM or PM camps, your money is due now. Please pay Kristi Hart from now on. Thank you!
Family Presentations
Family presentations this week is the Dunn family. Next week we have the Criger family.
Weekly Student Presentation
The weekly presentation topic is "grab bag". Your tutor will bring a bag with a variety of topics to speak about.
Feeling disconnected?
We're more than 1/2 way through the fall semester... are you connecting with other families? Getting to know new people? I would encourage everyone to reach out to someone they don't know this week. It could be a parent in another Foundations class or one of our Challenge mom's or students. These big kids are amazing, God loving, caring young people and you will be blessed to know them and their families. Let's all make an effort to create a stronger community this week. I know several families aren't able to stay for lunch, which happens to be when a lot of that community takes places. If you can rearrange your schedule to stay for even a small portion of the break time, I think you'll find it well worth your time.
Prayer Partners
Have you connected with your prayer partner? Are you asking for or offering support? Please continue to make an effort to build community by investing in your prayer partner.

Parent Off Campus Policy
I want to remind everyone that a parent needs to be on campus with your children at all times. If a situation arises where you need to leave, another parent must be willing to act as guardian, I need to be informed and have a note in writing and signed by both parties. Please speak to me if you have any questions.
The Moore Family - update
Gideon underwent his second treatment of the clinical trial and is doing well. They are seeing small improvements in his muscle strength and are hopeful he will continue to gain strength. Please keep praying! You can continue to contribute funds to Amy Lynn at any time. Thank you!
I sent a sign-up around to the Challenge moms to volunteer in the AM for our Childcare. We'll need parents from our group to also help out, that list will go around the each class on 12/15. Thank you!
Yearbook
I've set up an account at Picaboo.com to start collecting photos for our yearbook and end of the year slide show. Go to this link and upload your photos from field trips, class or other events and activities. http://ccdoylestown.picaboo.com If anyone would like to take over the management of this, I would love to pass it along!
