Schedule Changes for Early Release
Early Release: Parent-Teacher Conferences
Dear Parents,
Early Release conferences are next week. Early release conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 19th and Thursday, October 20th. Students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm on both days. Please be sure to note this important schedule change.
We are offering both an in person format as well as a digital format for this year’s conferences. The purpose of a parent-teacher conference is to discuss student achievement and progress. Each parent-teacher conference will last for a period of twenty minutes. Both parents are urged to attend. Please be prompt as these conferences are scheduled consecutively. If a situation arises and you are unable to attend your scheduled conference, please notify the teacher so the conference can be rescheduled.
To schedule your conferences, simply go to our school’s conference site tps://ptcfast.com/schools/Dyer_Elementary_School_3END and click on your teacher’s name. The schedule will open on Wednesday, October 5th at noon. There you will be able to see your teachers’ schedules and sign up for a time that best suits you. The ability to sign up for a conference online will close on Sunday, October 16th at 8pm. Please contact your child’s teacher directly to sign up after the close of online scheduling.

Las conferencias de padres y representantes se acercan rápidamente. Este año, nuestras conferencias se llevarán a cabo el Miércoles 19 de Octubre y el Jueves 22 de Octubre. Toda la instrucción para los estudiantes terminará a las 12:15 en ambos días. Asegúrese de tener en cuenta estos importantes cambios de horario.
Estamos ofreciendo tanto un formato en persona como un formato digital para las conferencias de este año. El propósito de una conferencia de padres y maestros es discutir el rendimiento y el progreso de los estudiantes. Cada conferencia de padres y maestros durará un período de veinte minutos. Por favor sea puntual ya que estas conferencias están programadas consecutivamente. Si surge una situación y no puede asistir a su conferencia programada, notifique al maestro para que se pueda reprogramar la conferencia.
Para programar sus conferencias este año, simplemente vaya al sitio de conferencias de nuestra escuela https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Dyer_Elementary_School_3 y haga clic en el nombre de su maestro. El horario se abrirá el Miércoles 5 de octubre a las 12:00 pm. Allí podrá ver los horarios de los profesores y apuntarse a la hora que más le convenga. La posibilidad de inscribirse en una conferencia en línea se cerrará el Domingo 16 de Octubre a las 8:00 p.m. Comuníquese directamente con el maestro de su hijo para registrarse después del cierre de la programación en línea.

Book Fair is Coming! 10/17 - 10/21!
Dear Parents and Families:
The Book Fair will be at Dyer Elementary from October 17 - October 21, both in-person and online! Students will be able to shop, using eWallets or checks only, at their classroom’s assigned time in the Media Center.
Important: In-person shoppers must pay with the Book Fair eWallet or checks. We will not accept cash at the Book Fair.
If you send a child with a check, please make it to Dyer Elementary, sign it, and write a do not exceed amount on the memo line. Book Fair cashiers will fill in the amount on the check. We cannot give change back on checks.
The Book Fair eWallet is a safe and convenient digital payment account that allows students to shop at the fair cash-free! Students cannot receive money back on an eWallet, so please only load it with the amount you want your child to spend. We will make sure your child spends as close as possible to the full amount loaded on the eWallet. Anything left on the eWallet can either be donated back to the Media Center to help us purchase books or saved on the eWallet for future book fair purchases. Please see the link for the online book fair below to sign up for the eWallet. (**DO NOT PUT MONEY ON MY PAYMENTS PLUS. The eWallet can only be set up on https://www.scholastic.com/bf/jgdyerelementaryschool .)
The Book Fair will be open on the early release days (October 19 and 20) until 3:30 pm. (Credit Cards, checks, and eWallets only.)

Wanted: Book Fair Volunteers!
Book Fair is always fun! We cannot have a successful book fair without wonderful volunteers. As a volunteer, you will help children find fun books to purchase. You will also help them with figuring out whether or not they have enough money before going to the cash register. We will also need help running the cash register. This year, the book fair is cash free. We will only accept eWallets, checks, and credit cards for payment. This makes working the cash register easy! All volunteers will receive 10% off of their purchases at the book fair. Thank you for all of your support! Click this link to sign up to volunteer:
BEARS' Trading Post
Our first BEARS VIP Event of the school year, Donuts with Officer JP, was a huge success! The students enjoyed spending time with him yesterday and discussing big plans for future VIP events.
Don't forget, this month's VIP Event will be a visit to the Bookmobile with Mrs. Langford. Students that attend will get to visit the Bookmobile and select a book during their recess on our Book Character Dress-up Day. Tickets for this event are on sale at the Trading Post while supplies last. Cost for the event is 50 Bear Bucks!
The Trading Post will also be selling raffle tickets for a $15 Crumbl Cookie gift card during the month of October! Raffle tickets cost 10 Bear Bucks per entry and students can enter as many time as they like. There will be one winner per grade level.
Trading Post Hours: 7:40-8:10AM (students must be in line by 8:05AM)
Shopping Days:
- Tuesdays- Kindergarten and 3rd grade
- Wednesdays- 1st and 4th grade
- Thursdays- 2nd and 5th grade

Welcome to another wonderful school year here at Dyer, where every parent is automatically a member of our PTO!
We have exciting news...EVENTS are BACK! This fall, we are thrilled to bring back the Fall Festival and Donuts with Dads. This spring, Muffins with Moms and the Daddy-Daughter dance will return. We are thrilled but we will need parent volunteers to help pull it off!
