Self-Care

Important for children and adults

Self-care is the act of intentionally engaging in positive and helpful activities to support well being! This includes our mental, emotional, and physical health. Research shows that when we take care of our body and mind it leads to improved mood, reduced anxiety, increased self-esteem, stronger relationships, and better overall health. This has a direct impact on quality of life. Self-care activities can include: puzzles, reading, spending time in nature, enjoying a dessert (or two!), quality time with a pet, talking to a loved one, or exercising. If you were asked to make a list of people in your life that you love, would you think to write yourself? When we take care of ourselves we are better able to support and take care of the other special people in our lives, so show yourself some love and spread kindness to all!
