Commitment Letters for 2016- 2017
It is time once again for current NTH@C learners to submit their commitment letters for the 2016-2017 school year. Follow the link to the commitment letter for our current NTH@C learners. As a reminder current juniors are automatically enrolled into their senior year. Current juniors do not need to complete a commitment letter. Commitment letters for current rookies and sophomores are due . You may return letters electronically or by dropping them off in person to the NTH@C front office.
NTH@C Summer Film & Photo Camp
NTH@C will be hosting their annual summer film and photo camp from June 13- 16 at New Tech. The camp serves 4th - 8th grade learners. Please visit the camp's website for more information. http://newtech-mooney.weebly.com/
Seniors PTSO Scholarship Deadline
Attention seniors the NTH@C PTSO scholarship deadline has been extended until April 15th. Please see the attached document for more information!
Coppell Ed Foundation Fun Run
Registration is open for the Red & Black Run to Fund on April 16. The early registration discount ends March 31, so register now! Visit the link for more information.
Prom Tickets for Juniors & Seniors
Prom tickets will be on sale during lunches on Wednesday and Fridays til the first of May. Tickets are $130 per person and include dinner. All non New Tech guests will need approval to attend the prom. Remember no refunds available.
Drug Trends and Awareness Presentation
On Monday, April 11 at 6:30 pm CISD is co sponsoring a presentation concerning current drug trends and awareness. The presentation will be at Coppell Middle School West.
School Board Candidates Forum
There will be a school board candidate forum on Wednesday, April 13 hosted by the the PTO Presidents. The forum will be in the CHS lecture hall from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
Counselor Update
Mark your calendars:
- Rising Juniors and Rising Seniors have the chance to take the TSI here on campus the morning of April 12th. The TSI is an exam needed for learners to take dual credit classes.
- On April 19th, all Juniors will be administered the ACT. We here at New Tech will take care of all the registration requirements.
- June 3, 2016 is the last day for schedule changes.
All Parents:
- The Off Campus PE application & permission form have been posted online. If you are interested, the link to the Off Campus PE website is below and also under the counseling tab on the New Tech High @ Coppell website. http://www.coppellisd.com/Page/12659
Rising Sophomores:
- Mrs. Cole will have Rising Sophomore individual meetings from April 11th-April 29th to discuss course registration for next year, graduation requirements, and future educational plans.
Rising Seniors:
- TWU Dual Credit Course: For the second year, NTH@C is offering a dual credit course through Texas Women’s University here on campus with their adjunct professor Mr. Kerr.
- In order to take this course, your learner are responsible for the application fee ($50), course tuition ($200 in August and $200 in December), and any other materials needed to successfully complete the courses. Upon successful completion of this course, your learner will receive credit for Senior English IV, TWU college freshman English, and 2 dual credits.
- The instructions on how to apply to be a dual credit learner at TWU has been emailed to your learner. You can also look at this website to find more explanation of how to apply.http://www.twu.edu/dual-credit/application-instructions/
- Rising Seniors need to complete all application requirements by 12:00pm on Friday, April 29th.
- Has your Rising Senior completed their 10 hours of Job Shadowing? Have they completed their paperwork? Talk to your learner about how this graduation requirement.
Graduating Seniors:
- Mrs. Cole needs your Graduating Senior to update their Naviance with their acceptances, denials, and commitments to colleges. This information is used only for statistical information.
