Letter from the Principal...

Hello Rose Lane Families and CareGivers:

There is so much to be grateful for at this time of year, and your generosity during Thanksgiving Sharing has been at the top of the list! Many thanks to Madison Baptist Church, Mrs. Wilhardt-Smith, Blue Orthodontics, and you, our generous families, for helping to raise $3,000 in monetary donations for our families. Mrs. Mersch, Coach Lawrence, and Mrs. Merrill led our staff towards this goal, with compassion and foresight. Thank you all for helping to maximize our community spirit through Thanksgiving Sharing.

We also need to give a shout out to Mrs. Weaver's class, whose class showed amazing spirit on Super Hero Day! So wonderful to see how much fun everyone had dressing out as Super Heroes in late October.

I know that this week has been very challenging for our families and staff, not only as we anticipate and prepare for returning to virtual instruction but also due to the rise COVID-19 cases in the community. The prospect of spending the holidays in this unfamiliar climate may also be difficult for us to work through. I would like to share with you some resources that Mrs. Merrill introduced me to, which will help as we navigate some of these challenges. It is an excellent source of ideas, information and support available on a website called understood.org.

I also encourage you to read through the information related to the Governing Board's decision to return to virtual instruction, with the reboot of our onsite online learning option for families. Here is the link, which includes a google form for you to indicate if your child needs to take this option. The deadline is this Sunday, November 22nd, at 11:59 PM.

Please understand that we are also developing a waiting list for families who might need accommodations related to who is eligible for onsite online learning, and that emailing the roselaneoffice@madisoned.org address will help start the process of the waiting list. We will notify wait-listed families beginning on Monday morning. We thank you for your patience as we examine every wait-list request individually and in the context of available staffing.

As we approach Thanksgiving, please know how much we appreciate each of you for selecting Rose Lane as your school of choice. We love all of our students and staff, and are so grateful to each of their families!. Best wishes to you for a safe, healthy, bountiful, and wonderful Thanksgiving break which will begin this Wednesday. See you online or on campus on November 30!

Best Regards,
