Audubon Park School

Principal's Update #5

Falcon Flyover

Falcon Fly Over

Audubon Park School Families & Community,

Audubon Park School continues to progress both from a facility standpoint and from a community mindset. Deliveries are beginning to pour into the school on a daily basis and final construction is taking place. It will all be ready to showcase to the public on our Community Open House event August 2nd from 3:00 -5:00 p.m.

Last Wednesday, we held our first PTSA meeting. We had a packed house at the Winter Park Community Center. If you missed the meeting, no worries, as our PTSA will have lots of opportunities for you to get involved, beginning in August. In the meantime, please visit their website and fill out the Involvement Form.

With summer just around the corner, I hope your family has a relaxing and fun summer. However, make sure your child avoids the Summer Slide by keeping up with important and meaningful summer assignments. Summer assignments as well as supply lists will be posted on our school website at All assignments will be posted by the first week in June.

And finally, Graduation season is in full swing now and with my son graduating next week from Winter Park High, I am reminded of just how fast the whole school experience goes. Treasure every moment with your children, get involved with their classes and interests. Let's get ready to create some great memories at our new school!

Middle School Elective: Yearbook

Yearbook will be an extra elective option for students in 6th - 8th grades. Shannon Halon has been the Yearbook Instructor at Glenridge Middle School for the last 3 years and brings an element of fun and creativity to her classes. Creating a Yearbook for the school is a big responsibility and we look forward to our students rising to the challenge and creating an amazing book to document our first year at APS. Please see the attached Student Application.

Club: Girls on the Run

Audubon Park School would like to host one or more teams next school year for 3rd-8th grade students. We are looking for staff members or parent volunteers interested in Coaching or Assistant Coaching for the Fall 2018 season. Please email Lisa Smith at if you are interested in becoming involved with this great organization. Mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
