Missing a jacket, water bottle, glasses or any other miscellaneous item your kiddo could have left here at school? Please feel free to come take a look in our lost and found bins in the front office before Thanksgiving break......because after that we will be donating all items to a local donation spot. Our bins are overflowing up here and it is only November! We will need to make more room as the year is still not over.

NOVEMBER 16. Did you miss picture day....not quite happy with your original photos....no worries! Picture Retake day is right around the corner!
Parent Information Regarding retake day:
If your student was absent on the first Fall Picture Day or is a new student AND you still need to place an order, you can go to https://inter-state.com/flyerentry and enter code: 65300V
If you were not happy with your student's fall pictures, please send the picture packet you received with all of the picture sheets enclosed with your student to school on Tuesday, November 16th. They will need to give the packet to the photographer. If you originally never ordered and just received the second chance proof it is not necessary to bring that back.
BoxTops for Riverview!
Turning in your BoxTops to benefit RE PTA is even easier this year! There are 3 ways you can contribute:
1. Download the app, register your name and choose Riverview Shawnee, KS as the school to send your earnings. After shopping, use the app to scan your receipt. The app will pick up any product that qualifies and automatically credit them to Riverview.
2. Doing online grocery orders with an emailed receipt? Just forward that email to receipts@boxtops4education.com (Important: you must have previously registered through the app to tie your email to your selected school for this option).
3. Physical Box Top clippings can still be turned in as long as they aren’t expired. You can tape them to any sheet of paper or save them in a ziplock bag to send in to school with your child. If you have any questions, please reach out to Stacy Schmidtlein at semontee@hotmail.com.

Carloop Names
Now that the months are getting colder and we know we will be having a lot more car riders vs. walkers. Please make sure that you have either labeled on a piece of paper or folder written large and legible, the student's name of the student you are picking up after school. By doing this, this helps to make the pickup process go faster and smoother as our teacher callers can quickly identify student's cars to have them come out to be picked up.

If you could spare a few......
As we are are gearing up for colder months and weather, we have noticed our extra masks dwindling here in the office. Just today we gave out 25 masks in one day.....Holy Cow! At that rate we will be out of extra masks in no time.
If by chance you have some extra child size disposable masks laying around at home OR have access to extras, Riverview Office staff would gladly take those off of your hands.
I would also like to remind families to please make sure you student is bringing a mask to wear daily! It also would not hurt to have a couple of extra in their backpacks as well.....you never know what the day will bring!
CrossWalk Safety Reminder
Safety First is our motto here at Riverview, which means PLEASE make sure that you walking or you are having your students walk down to the school's designated crosswalk areas. Our 47th street is a VERY busy road, which is why we have designated crosswalk areas that we specifically position staff members there to help with the safety of all students. I wish I had the man power to staff all Riverview community passageways, but that is just not the case. So while it might save you or your kiddos a few extra steps to cut across, that is certainly not a safer option and we need you to cross at the designated crosswalk areas.

Peanut FREE School.....Reminder
Just a friendly reminder that we are a peanut FREE school here at Riverview. With birthday celebrations and upcoming fall parties, I thought I would attach our peanut free approved foods list. Please note that this is a working document and if you find another food or bakery location that meets the peanut free requirements, we would be happy to add that to our list to share out with other families!
