Careers Adviser
Good luck to all year 12 students in their Half Yearly examinations. Last year I had the opportunity and pleasure to undergo one on one interviews with Year 12 and discuss with them their career plans and post school goals and possible pathways. To assist students with their options and choices, numerous events, workshops and seminars have been organised to give students the opportunity to gain knowledge and an insight of what is available to them.
Next term, all year 12 students will attend the Southern District Tertiary Day at Sutherland Entertainment Centre, which will give students the opportunity to interact with all the different universities, colleges and TAFE and collect information. Following this event, universities have been invited to attend our school to talk and give a presentation to students about each university and the opportunities available to students. This will enable students to ask any questions that they may have.
Students will also have the opportunity to partake in numerous HSC workshops and information sessions held at school next term. The aim of these workshops is to effectively prepare our students and provide them with relevant information to assist them with post school pathways and choices.
There are also many information sessions and HSC workshops that available for both parents and students to attend by different universities and colleges and industries.
It is good advice to invest time into researching this information and seeing it and experiencing it for yourself to ensure that you make sure, you make the right choice for you and your future.
