Standard:
I can determine the main idea and supporting details of what I am reading.
- Students will be learning about main idea and supporting details of written material. This is a preface to their informative writing they will begin next week. It is important for them to realize the flow of ideas and making sure they have details to support their paragraphs.
Assignments to be Completed this week:
Students will be completing daily work in class with assistance of their ELA teachers. We will be writing an informative research paper on famous African Americans and students will need to be thinking of who they would like to research and write about.
Please make sure students are reading each day for 30 minutes.

What we will be Learning:
Students will begin exploring the civilizations of Ancient Greece. The focus will be on the government types of Oligarchy and Democracy by learning of the cities of Sparta and Athens, and the achievements of Alexander the Great.
