Attention Students!
Due to the frequency of WHS students bringing food and Dutch Bro's over to WMS for their friends/siblings-we are no longer going to accept items unless it is brought by a parent. We will not call students out of classes to receive food or drink and if drinks are dropped off they will not be able to be picked up till the end of the day. We ask that WHS students please stay off the WMS campus (including fields) during our school hours (8:24-3:55).
Thank you for your understanding.
A Note From The Health Office
Just a reminder, we need updated immunization records or immunization exemption forms turned in to the health office by October 30!
SRO Student of the Week: Addisyn M
“Addy is the epitome of a good citizen. From the first day of class, I’ve seen her welcome new students, invite peers to sit with her at lunch or move herself to be with others sitting alone. Within the classroom, she is focused works hard, and is always willing to offer ideas or lend a helping hand to teachers and classmates alike.”
SRO Student of the Week: Chloe L
Chloe was at the swim meet and saw a student in need of help. She jumped ahead of staff and parents to help the student out of the pool. "Great Job"
SRO Student of the Week: Anthony P
Nene is one of the most patient, kind, helpful, and bright students I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. The main reason for this nomination: I have a very special student who needs a great deal of help every day in my class (he is legally blind). Without being asked, Nene sits next to him every day and does everything he can to help this student get the most out of class. He quietly explains the lesson or activity, includes this student in group work, and thinks of ways to alter the games or assignments so this student can better grasp the material. It really is quite remarkable to watch every day: a young 7th grade student being so perceptive, humble, selfless, and giving. I believe Nene is a very strong candidate for the SRO Student of the Week!
Nene goes above and beyond in the school community. He spreads kindness and positivity and is a GREAT role model. I observe him in and out of the class being kind to others using his influence to show that it is cool to be kind. In a group of students in the morning, he takes time to talk to students that might be struggling even when he is in the midst of a crowd.

VOLUNTEER COACHING INFORMATION
There are a few steps to volunteering as a Coach at WMS. The first step is to speak with the Head Coach of the sport you want to participate in. When that coach approves you, he or she will send a note to Mr. Cox, our Athletic Director, informing him of the potential volunteer, and that the coach has met the potential volunteer and has a plan for that volunteer to help our program. The potential volunteer will then need to come see Mr. Cox to get a Volunteer Coaching form. You will need that form in order to complete an application to volunteer on our RAPTOR system. Once you have the form, go to RAPTOR and fill out the volunteer application. When you are approved, you will be in the system and are then able to work with our athletes.
Please call Mr. Cox if you have any questions, or need help working through the process, at (970) 686-8219.
