Faith
Our Divisional 3 year faith theme is: Growing in the Trinity: Love, Mercy & Grace. This year we will be focusing on 'Growing in Love: with the Father'. As we seek to animate this theme throughout the year we will be sharing with our students an understanding of the infinite love we receive from God and how we are called to share the love of God with those around us.
As we move into a new school year we pray for God's blessing on all our students and families, may we all seek to build the Kingdom of heaven, here on earth at St. Kateri Academy. We invite all families to keep our school and school community in your prayers throughout this school year!
As members of the St. Jean Baptiste community, we have also included a link to our parish website for families to easily access.
SKTA Opening Celebration
As we begin a new school year, we will be hosting our 'Opening Celebration' to gather as a school faith community and give thanks to God for the blessing of a new school year. Our Opening Celebration will be held on Friday, Sept. 15 at 1:30 PM. We will be welcoming Fr. Trini to preside over our celebration and to lead us in prayer, scripture and reflections on the joys and blessings God shares with our school community.
We are happy to welcome SKTA families to join us for our Opening Celebration and simply ask that anyone in attendance to please 'check in' at the office before making their way to the gym. Thank you.
Terry Fox Run
As is tradition with most schools around Canada, we at SKTA will be participating in the annual Terry Fox run! This is a 'fun run' with the goal of raising awareness and funds for cancer research, as well as, to learn about the incredible legacy of Terry Fox!
Students at SKTA will be participating in the Terry Fox run on Sept. 18 in the AM. Students will be encouraged to bring in a small donation for the Terry Fox Foundation (loonie or toonie). We will collecting donations from Sept. 11 - 18. Please note, the donation is completely voluntary and all students will have the opportunity to participate regardless of a donation.
We are excited to continue Terry's 'Marathon of Hope', as we seek collectively to work towards supporting cancer research with the prayer of healing for all those worldwide affected by the disease.
Parent Council
Parent Council is a wonderful way for parents & guardians to get involved and support our school. All parents & guardians with children registered at SKTA are welcome to join! Participating in Parent Council will allow individuals to share their voice and their talents with the school community and serve our students.
Our first Parent Council meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6:30PM in person at the school, a virtual link will also be made available for individuals to participate in the meeting remotely.

Lunch Box Notes of Encouragement for Your Child
New school routines can be challenging and it is understandable for your child to feel some nervousness as they adjust to their new routine. One strategy to help your child feel connected throughout the school day is by giving them something small such as a message in their lunchbox, to let them know that you are thinking of them throughout the day. A small gesture such as this can make meaningful and positive ripples in your child’s day. Check out the Confidence-Boosting Lunch Box Notes from Big Life Journal below. These notes can be a helpful way for you to share those words of encouragement with your child, even when you are not around.
Methods for Recording Student Attendance
Dear Parents,
Ensuring your child's attendance is accurately recorded is essential for us to provide the best educational experience. To make this process convenient for you, we offer three user-friendly options:
1. School Messenger App (Most Popular): Download the School Messenger app, the preferred choice of many parents. It offers a hassle-free way to report attendance and stay connected with school updates.
2. Parent Portal: Accessible through our website, the Parent Portal provides a secure platform to submit attendance information.
3. Safe Arrival Phone Number: Alternatively, you can call our school phone line to report your child's attendance.
Choose the method that suits you best!
Supports for Families
We at SKTA are a community school and as such very family oriented. We would like our family community to know we are here to support you beyond thee classroom.
