During the 1960s, his paintings were exhibited at the Leo Catelli Gallery in New York City.His work defined the basic premise of pop art better than any other through parody.
Andy Warhol
His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Andy Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist.
Sir Peter Blake
During the late 1950s, Sir Peter Blake became one of the best known British pop artists. His paintings from this time included imagery from advertisements, music hall entertainment, and wrestlers, often including collaged elements. Sir Peter Blake was included in group exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and had his first solo exhibition in 1960.
