Cooper Staff Update
March 18, 2021
Celebrating Women's History Month
The theme for this year's Women's History Month is a continuation of the 2020 celebration of the women's suffrage centennial: Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to be Silenced. Be sure to update our Holiday Observance Spreadsheet to share the activities you have planned for your classrooms.
"Recognizing the achievements of women in all facets of life – science, community, government, literature, art, sports, medicine – has a huge impact on the development of self-respect and new opportunities for girls and young women."

Security Drill Feedback
- Every morning you need to check your classroom/office door knob as you enter to verify that the knob is locked. In a true emergency, you may not have an opportunity to safely lock the door, which would put you and your students at risk.
- When transitioning to lockdown, lower the privacy shade on your classroom door. Following the drill please immediately roll up the shade and secure it with the attached strings.
- For announced practice drills only, due to social distancing requirements, do not have your students gather in the corner of the room; however, it is important to review with students where they should go in a true emergency.
- Take note of any students who were out of the room. In a true emergency you may be asked for this information by emergency personnel.
Staff Travel Plans ~ IMPORTANT
As you are aware, the district continues to follow the travel guidelines put forth by the NJ Department of Health.
If you are planning to travel, please contact Keila Rosado. After Human Resources has spoken with you, please communicate with me how many days you will be missing in-person instruction, and have them entered ASAP into ESS/AESOP so I can plan to staff the school and supervise our in-person students.
If you are a classroom teacher, please ensure that updated asynchronous plans are accessible to your students and anyone with access to your Google Classroom for the days out.

Extended School Year (ESY) Positions Available
Did you know that you can raise money for Cooper as you shop?
Please download the RaiseRight app by ShopwithScrip. This app enables you to purchase a physical or electronic gift card at face value, and a percentage of your cost goes directly to the Cooper PTA. For example, if you were planning to purchase a new washer and dryer at Lowes, you could purchase an eGift Card for $1300.00 using the RaiseRight app, and then head to the local Lowes store and pay using the gift card on your phone. Since Lowes offers 4% back, the Cooper PTA would earn $52.00 automatically.
- It's easy to get set-up on the RaiseRight app using the Cooper enrollment code: L293995764473.
- You can order through the app and choose to pay by check at absolutely no extra cost to you. Just drop off your check to the main office.
- E-cards can be purchased anytime.
- Physical gift cards will be purchased once a month (next order will be placed 3/17.) The gift cards will be delivered to school the following week.
Please reach out to Mrs. Moore or Mrs. Ansari from the Cooper PTA if you need any assistance getting set-up.
