DECEMBER 2022 HIGHLIGHTS

Community Connections

The Culinary class recently hosted the Picture Rocks Lions Club Banquet. They prepared a delicous meal that consisted of Bistro steak, seared shrimp, vegetables, sour cream potato logs, and Oreo cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

The students did an excellent job preparing the meal and serving our guests from the community!

Cooperative Education

We have a few students currently participating in our cooperative education program.

Sophia Briel(Hughesville-Early Childhood Eduction) is working as a teacher assistant at Bostley's and Renn Elementary School. Brook Wack(Hughesville-Culinary Arts) is working as a dietary aide at Wolf Run Village. Ashlin Harris(Montoursville-Early Childhood Education) is working as a teacher assistant at Loyalsock Valley Elementary. Thank you to our business and community partnerships that provide the support and opportunity for our students to gain these experiences.

Student Visitations

9th grade students from our sending districts had the opportunity this week to come visit LycoCTC. They were able to spend time in 3 different classes that they were interested in learing more about. Our current students and teachers did an excellent job showing them what Lyco is all about! Students were encouraged to continue discussing their career pathway with their parents and school counselors as they begin course selections in their high schools after the holidays.

Recruitment Presentations

Before visitations our Career Counselor, LizAnn Barlett, visits our sending district's to share information about each of our programs and the opportunities that LycoCTC has to offer.
