Thunder Post!
January 14, 2023
January- Such a "cool" month!
Hello CCS Families:
Greetings to you on this beautiful Saturday!
We have had yet another awesome week here at CCS. Some of the highlights include a well-attended Kindergarten Information Night (Thank you Parents, Mrs. Arbour, Mrs. Nettleingham, Mrs. Annas, Mrs. Vaughn (and daughter:) and Mrs. Lorey!), an incredible pep rally on Friday (way to go Cheer team and Boys Basketball!), and our hosting of the area JV basketball tournament today (thank you Mrs. Jackson and team!).
It was our first full week back after Christmas break, and students made the most of it for sure. We are excited about what lies ahead as we continue learning together and experiencing all God has for each one of us and for our school.
"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jer 29:11)
Please read on for more updates and information....
Kindergarten Information Night-
Thank you to Mrs. Arbour for all you do day in and day out to make this such a special time for our little ones! Thank you also to Mrs. Nettleingham for your leadership and to all that helped put on such an exceptional night for these perspective students and their families.
Moms in Prayer- Powerful!
An inspiring time was had by those that particpated in Friday's "Moms in Prayer" time. Thank you to Amy Nogowski for her leadership in organizing this and to all who continue to lift up our students, our families and our school.
The next prayer time is scheduled for this Thursday, Jan 26th. Moms meet at 9:00 in the CEPC student center.
Open House- Coming up! Sunday, January 22nd.
One week from tomorrow, on January 22, CCS will host its annual open house for prospective families. Please help us spread the word to family and friends that would benefit from a dynamic Christian school environment. Not only will we provide them with lunch, but there will also be a bounce house and other engaging activities to experience.
Please help us spread the good word about CCS!
5th grade Science - It is your "density"
Thank you Mrs. Elliott for such a creative project and for leading these young scientist!!!
Could you use a little "STEAM?"
It is just a matter of "facts"
Connecting, Communicating, and Coffee (C3) roundtable -This Thursday
All are welcome! The meeting will be held in our student chapel area. Light refreshments and coffee will be provided.
Student Art Gallery - March 10
We are looking for a few volunteers to help. If you would be willing, please sign up here!
The first meeting will be on Wednesday, January 25th at 2pm in The Chapel.
Thank you Mrs. Mills and PTO!!!
K-5 start time moves to 8:35 a.m. beginning Monday, Jan 30th
The results were overwhelmingly in support of starting earlier. Interesting, several of our parents actually indicated they thought that was when school started already (smile:).
It is true that our MS starts at 8:35 a.m. and our K-5 students move into the classrooms at that time, however our official elementary start time was 8:45 a.m.
While we are excited about these new morning minutes being added into our classrooms, please know we are aware a mid-year adjustment may require some flexibility with our families. Rest assured we will work with all to ensure a smooth transition.
More information will be coming on this via email over the next few weeks. Thank you parents, once again, for your support as we seek to do all we can to ensure each child's success at CCS.
"We've got spirit, yes we do...
Pep Rally- How Fun!
Thunder Sports!
After the exciting school pep rally, our Thunder basketball team entered the annual tournament. While our dedicated athletes did not win the event, they represented our school well. Great job boys on a fantastic season!
As an FYI, the cheer team will compete in their competition on Wednesday January 18 at Shepherd of the Lakes at 5:30 pm. We would love to see our Thunder fans in the stands to support our teams!!
