Skate Night - December 1

Kick off December by joining your classmates at Skate Country in Buford on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., for Suwanee Elementary Skate Night. Skate Country is located at 2700 Buford Hwy., in Buford. Be sure to sign-in at the Suwanee Elementary table when you arrive to be eligible for prizes. The class with most students in attendance will be rewarded. Admission is just $4 and includes regular skate rental. Speed skate or in-line skate rental is $2. Please note that this is not a drop-off event. A parent or guardian must be present at Skate Country.

Suwanee PTA Upcoming Events

Hello everyone! It's hard to believe that the holidays are upon us! Although there are only three weeks of school in December, this will be a VERY busy time for our school! Please mark your calendar for these upcoming events!

Tuesday, December 1 - Skate Night at Skate Country - Join your Jaguar friends for a night of skating fun!

Thursday, December 3 - Pajama Stories and Vendor Night - Come to school in your pajamas from 5:30-7:30 PM and listen to some holiday stories while enjoying cookies and hot chocolate! We will also be hosting a vendor night with several local representatives selling their items, so plan to get some Christmas shopping done as well!

December 14-18 - Reindeer Lane Holiday Shop - More information coming soon about this opportunity for the students to do some holiday shopping of their own for family members and friends!

December 15 - Spirit Night at fab'rik - A portion of all sales at fab'rik at Town Center this evening will benefit Suwanee PTA.

January 12 - Bingo Night - Our first event of 2016 will be a night of family fun!

Toys for Tots!

Please bring a NEW toy in its original packaging (but not gift wrapped) to your school December 1st - December 7th

  • Donate a toy and get a coupon for 50% off admission to Lake Lanier Nights of Lights on NG Toys for Tots night--Tuesday, December 1st
  • Bring a toy to the Moore Road Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, December 2nd to receive a FREE sandwich or an 8-count nugget
  • Chick-fil-A will also be donating breakfast (30 chicken biscuits) to the student organization at the school in the NG cluster that donates the most toys

Upcoming Parent Focus Groups

Our next focus group of the year is coming up in January. All are encouraged to attend these meetings. Ms. Keag hosts these regular meetings for parents to share what we are doing well as a school, any barriers to excellence, and any ideas that would help our school community. In our few meetings, the topics discussed included school wide communication, cafeteria expectations for students, eCalss, and other topics suggested by those in attendance. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!

We enjoy having you at Suwanee to dine with your child for lunch. Visitors and their student(s) are to sit at the designated "Visitor's Table". Any students, other than your child, may not be invited to join you at the visitor's table as they must remain with their class.

Safety and Security

All schools have a safety and security plans. The plans are designed with the help of school security and support staff members, as well as local law enforcement, emergency management, and public health officials. Plans are reviewed and updated regularly. These plans include procedures to respond to critical incidents such as tornados, medical emergencies and criminal acts. All staff members are trained on all procedures as it relates to how to handle issues related to safety and security.
