What Are Your Resolutions in 2024?
π Note from the Principal
Happy New Year to our Wonderful Families!
I hope this message finds you all well-rested and filled with joy after a wonderful winter break. As we embark on the second semester of the school year, I want to extend a warm welcome back to our students, families, and dedicated staff.
As we enter into the new year, it is a great time for reflection and goal-setting. I encourage both students and parents to embrace the opportunity to set achievable New Year's resolutions for the second semester. These resolutions can be a powerful tool for personal growth and academic success. Things to keep in mind when creating school minded resolutions:
- Build Strong Relationships: Foster positive relationships with peers, teachers, and staff to create a supportive school community.
- Celebrate Achievements: Acknowledge and celebrate accomplishments, no matter how small, to boost confidence and motivation.
- Establish Open Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with teachers and staff to stay informed about your child's progress.
- Create a Homework Routine: Establish a consistent homework routine at home to support your child's academic responsibilities.
- Encourage Reading: Foster a love for reading by incorporating it into your family routine and providing access to a variety of books.
- Attend School Events: Participate in school events and activities to strengthen the connection between home and school.
Together, let us make the second semester a period of growth, achievement, and positive experiences for our students. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to the success of our school community. Wishing you all a fantastic start to the new semester!

Most of all I enjoy putting a smile on someone elseβs face. And I love my Steele community, family and students.

Teacher Assistant: Killian Cruz
My name is Killian. I am a 12-year, active duty, Navy veteran. My time in service allowed me the opportunity to work with turbine engines and construction related to humanitarian aid. For my last tour, I was sent to Tucson for recruiting. During my initial three years in Tucson, I worked with all TUSD high schools and volunteered at Steele Elementary on my off time. In this time, my wife (who also works at Steele) and I fell in love with the students and staff.
Concurrently, I am attending the University of Arizona pursing a degree in Geographic Information Systems. In the meantime, I will absorb all of the information that the teachers and staff have for me. It is a blessing to be here!
Student of the Month ππ
Perserverance πͺ
We are delighted to announce that our Student of the Month spotlight for January is shining on individuals who embody the valuable quality of perseverance. Perseverance is the steadfast determination to overcome challenges and obstacles, demonstrating resilience in the face of adversity.
We encourage our families to engage in meaningful conversations with their students about the importance of perseverance in their academic journey. Emphasize the idea that setbacks and difficulties are a natural part of the learning process, and that success often stems from one's ability to persist and learn from these experiences.
Encouraging our students to cultivate a positive mindset, embrace challenges, and approach tasks with resilience will undoubtedly contribute to their personal growth and academic success. Let's work together to foster a community of learners who understand the power of perseverance and its impact on lifelong success.
