Arctic Blast
Glacier Ridge Elementary School 02.18.22
Dear Glacier Ridge Families,
Thank you to everyone that participated in the Kids Heart Challenge. See the information in this newsletter to see how generous our families are.
We are excited for our whole school since we will be traveling to the Raue Center for the Arts on March 4th to view our Polar Bear Players performance of Lion King. You will be receiving a permission slip for this event and it is imperative that we have one signed by a parent/guardian for each child to attend.
Have a great weekend and don't forget that Monday is a day off in honor of Presidents' Day.
Mr. Jacobsen and Mrs. Reinhardt
Polar Bear Players - The Lion King
We are just 3 weeks from our show! I can't believe how time has flown by! If you would like to preorder your Lion King Tickets for either March 5th at 11am or March 5th at 2pm at the Raue you can click the link. You can also buy tickets at the door that day. Please continue to check Seesaw for import updates regarding food donations for Tech Week and the shows. Thank you for all of your support!
Kids Heart Challenge Update
A huge thank you to all our Glacier Ridge students, families, and friends who helped to make this event so successful. We raised $11,733.05 this year for the American Heart Association which exceeded our school goal of $8,000.00.
This year's students who raised the highest amounts in donations and will have the opportunity to silly string Mrs. Maule are Molly M., Marco V., Nicholas V., Finnleigh E., Nolan M., and Caden M. Congratulations, and thank you for your hard work!
Also a special thank you to Miss O'Brien, Mrs. Cruz, and Mrs. Mostaert's classrooms who had more than half their class signed up and collected donations.
Once again, a big thank you from Mrs. Maule and the American Heart Association for helping to make a difference in the lives of so many.

Polar Bears Are SUPER READERS!
Our Glacier Ridge SUPER READER Reading Incentive Starts NEXT WEEK! We will have a kick off on Friday, February 25 with a Spirit Day wearing SUPERHERO attire. If you've already been counting reading minutes, online logs will be shared next week. Students who complete reading activities and get BINGO on our "Winter Break Reading Bingo" board, can get a complimentary ticket to a Chicago Wolves game. Bingo boards and Wolves Game order forms (on the back) were sent home with every student in December. Call or mail in the Wolves Game order form for free tickets for every child that completed BINGO for game dates from January through April.
The Crystal Lake Public Library Winter Reading Program (Waddle You Read?) runs from January 17 through March 13. ANY student who attends school in Crystal Lake (along with their siblings) can participate in the Public Library Program. Information was presented during Encore classes on Thursday and Reading Logs were sent home. After 600 minutes, students earn a book and a stuffed animal! For more information, go to https://www.clpl.org/.
Minutes count for BOTH reading programs, so KEEP READING!
