Pharmacy Technician
Apply to participate in Butte CTEC's Pharmacy Technician Program
This course is designed to prepare students with the necessary knowledge and abilities to become a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
Students will gain knowledge of standards, ethics, laws and regulations. Students learn to calculate common dosages, employ metric and apothecary systems and identify drugs, drug dosages, routes, forms and storage requirements. Students learn record keeping, packaging and labeling of drug products.
This program does not qualify for financial aid.
Schedule
- Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3-6 PM
- During the last six weeks, students must complete an additional 40 – 80 hours of practical training in an approved lab and successfully complete 50 venipunctures, 10 skin punctures and observe 2 arterial draws.
Estimated Costs
- Program Fee: $2,250 (includes registration and supplies)
- Variable Expenses: up to $660 (Hepatitis B and Influenza immunizations, TB clearance, uniform, text, study supplies, national exam fee and state licensing fee)
