Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) is holding a conference in Long Beach next month and as part of the conference, they will be touring various schools in the area that demonstrate their core purpose of strengthening learning through better environments. Student Support Specialist Collaboration/Pathway Coordinator
Early College Support: Long Beach City College classes for the Spring Semester have started. We are hosting 11 courses on the Browning campus. The goal for this semester is to have a 70% passing rate in our early college classes.
Please have students reach out to Mr. Miyake for support in the early college classes. Several 9th grade students reached out for assistance with their assignments in the COMM20 class and were able to prepare excellent presentations.
Pathway Support: Work-based learning activities are a strong part of Browning High School. Our teachers are consistently creating WBL experiences for our students. These experiences can be documented so that our students receive credit for their participation. We are constantly inputting these experiences into LROIX. If you have any WBL experiences that you would like to be inputted into LROIX, please see Mr. Miyake or Ms. Ishikawa.
If you have students approaching you about job placement, please feel free to have them reach out to Mr. Miyake.
Student Voice: Wishing best of luck to our student leaders, Soyoko and Joe, as they compete to bring home another culinary championship to Browning High School at the C-CAP competition in March. Shout out to the their leader and mentor, Chef Stef. Chef Stef has helped her students earn over $600,000 in scholarships!!!

Student Success Initiative
Beginning Monday, September 12th, our 9th graders who are currently enrolled in "Rising Leaders" and "Math Collaborative" as well as the 10th grade Math Collaborative students will be able to attend our Math Collaborative Program either before or after school. Any 9th and 10th graders who are not part of the program will be able to sign up and will be allowed to attend beginning September 19 only after I have received a signed registration form from a parent/guardian. If you have any students interested in being a part of our Math Collaborative Program, please have them see Mr. Williams.
In order to provide you with more information about our program, take a look at our Math Collaborative Program slide show. Hopefully, by next week we will provide 9th and 10th ELA and math teachers with a poster similar to the postcards. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mr. Williams.
