Dear Parents,
As fall departs and winter approaches, I want to take the opportunity to point out some of the exciting opportunities to look forward to this season at Madison.
- #Hour of Code: This is the official week of the global “Hour of Code” challenge. Many Madison students and over 100 million students worldwide have taken part in at least one hour of computer coding training during this annual movement. Here’s why: http://viewpure.com/dU1xS07N-FA. Try great coding games offered at https://code.org/.
- STEAM in LLC: Our library director, Mrs. Graham, launched “STEAM Tables” with our second and third grade students. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Tables will allow students to demonstrate learning in creative and innovative ways.
- iPro Challenge: The Madison Health and Wellness Committee will soon be unveiling the “iPro Challenge” to students in hope of challenging students to stay active during the winter months. Stay tuned for an infomercial from “Dustpan Danny” and “Nailhead” regarding this technology infused, fitness challenge!
- Conservation Committee: Madison parent Mrs. Thomas will be addressing our fourth and fifth graders soon with an opportunity to be a part of the school Conservation Committee. This team will research solutions, educate our students, and reform some of our practices around the school.
At Madison, our staff and parents provide many enriching opportunities that challenge and push our students to exercise their mind and body to reach their full potential. I am so thankful for the staff and parents that continue to find new ways to reach each student.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our annual winter concerts. Our Grades 1-3 concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 15. After a short intermission, our Grade 4-5 and school chorus concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. Our kindergarten concert is on Fri., Dec. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Sincerely,
Tim Callahan

Put your donations to work for local families
Our district partners with Family Tree’s community voucher program. With every donation you make in the name of your CUSD 200 school, Family Tree donates vouchers to your school. Your social worker distributes these vouchers to families in need at your school, who then go to Family Tree and shop for FREE. Family Tree Resale's Wheaton store is located at 310 E. Geneva Road.
