February Team Meeting Notes
I am planning on these being the first Thursday of the month at 8:30pm CST. Next month (March) it will be on Monday, March 2nd at 8:30pm CST as I will be leaving for LEAD on Thursday. I'll post call in info in the group and in our voxer chat! If you aren't on voxer download the app and then find me (tarawoodland)!
Motivation
Coming off the holiday months can be really hard as those months bring incredible energy and volumes. To feel the slump of January and February are completely normal. After almost 6 years in this I feel this way each year. Our customers are tapped out after their holiday shopping so the key to keeping your business going is NEW! New sample prospects, new drop offs, pop ups. Also, for volume look at that member credits that need to be used up!
Also, to help with motivation I like to shift focus to another area of my business. This always helps when I feel those slumps. No one wants to host a pop up? Focus on starting recruiting conversations, helping build team members businesses. Switch focus to another area of healthy living (e.g. safer home swaps). Focus on advocacy (which is perfect with March 4th coming up!). These lack of motivation times will come, a business like this is no different in that respect. I’ve found that instead of wanting to throw in the towel to switch focus works really well!
Drop Kits
The new drop kits are amazing tools to grow your customer base, but as I’ve mentioned it might feel a little weird to ask for the pouch back after. To get around this, throw a full size item in there that compliments the samples given so that the potential customer can see the size of our products and then it doesn’t seem so “odd” to ask for the pouch back.
Also, if you’re wondering why the sample packs are the old packaging it’s because we are a no waste company and want to use up what we have before we roll out the new!
Sampling
As you’ve heard from me before, I’m a huge fan of sampling. It’s how I’ve really grown my business over the past 3 years. It takes some investment and serious follow up, but it’s the easiest way to get products into people’s hands all over the country. The key is in the follow up (as always) and patience as sometimes those people won’t order for a long time. Here’s the link to all my sample tools/tips if you’re curious and also be sure to get a sample request form created on google forms to make it super easy! Here’s my form for an example! Remember that I have about everything so don’t worry about not having enough, just offer what you have to sample! Here’s the newsletter with all my sample tips/tools! https://www.smore.com/r6dfj
Collaboration with Emily Eley
A reminder that tomorrow at 12:30 CST Emily Eley and I will be on Zoom chatting about personal branding! I’m so excited for this series as I know how important it is to find ourselves outside of being a safe beauty advocate in this business.
Here’s the call in info and recording will be posted to the group!

Pop Ups
It seems that a lot of people are burned out with hosting pop ups. I hear you! We chatted about spicing things up with focused pop ups (lip bar, masks and margaritas), collaborating with others (fitness studios) and keeping things fresh. For March 4th I always love doing an online event really focusing on the advocacy vs sales and it’s a lot of fun. With any socials I would do right now I’d touch on the Mica documentary, Gregg testifying, our sustainability focus and those sorts of things! I know if can be hard to get people to host so make sure they understand what the purpose is (sharing info and educating, sales are a bonus) and how they are helping the movement!
