What is Fraud?
Fraud is deception to gain money or information
Examples of Fraud
- Fraud can happen when someone pretends to be your bank and they call or email you asking for your information. They use this information to get money from your account, or to steal your identity.
- Identity theft is a form of fraud that happens when someone gets your personal information and pretends like they're you. Usually they do this to steal money from your bank account.
How to avoid fraud
- Don't give out personal information especially in emails and on websites.
- Read your monthly credit card bill to be sure that someone else didn't buy something using your card.
