Lenten Food Drive - Grade 3

St. Anna School’s 3rd Annual Lenten Food Drive

Help Us Make a Difference for Families in Need

As a Pillar of Lenten Service, the 3rd grade has taken on organizing our annual Lenten Food Drive. The food drive will continue through Lent, ending on Holy Thursday. The school (grades PreK-8) will collect canned goods and dry goods to donate to the St. Anna food pantry. Our food drive will help families in our community.

Every single donation helps, and together we hope our combined donations will make a real difference for those in need.

Here are some suggestions:

Canned vegetables

Peanut butter

Baked beans

Canned fruit

Canned chicken

Rice and beans

canned tuna

Mac and cheese

granola bars

instant potatoes

100% fruit juices

multigrain & low sugar cereals

Each item donated is worth 1 point. We will have an item of the week (The Blue Light Special). This item will be worth 2 points. The class with the most points will win a pizza party! The donations will be collected and counted by class each morning by the 3rd grade.

Thank you for your help!

The Third Grade Class

Bible Study Group to begin....A great way to get in the spirit of LENT.

Join us Friday mornings at 9 AM for a new 8 week study of Mary, A biblical walk with the Blessed Mother beginning March 20th. During Lent, we will be in the Holy Family of Nazareth church hall, with the exception of good Friday when we will not meet. After lent is over we will move back to Saint Anna church hall, still at 9 AM.

Feel free to let anyone know. The book costs $24.95 and is the only material necessary for the study. Each meeting contains a discussion portion where we go over the questions and answers we have done on our own and then watch a short video together. We always have coffee, fellowship, and snacks as well.

Anyone with questions is free to email me at

The formal description of the study from the Ascension press website is this:

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Dr. Edward Sri brings you on an extraordinary pilgrimage revealing Mary's unique role in God's kingdom and in our lives. Filmed on location in the Holy Land, this study brings the viewer into the midst of the powerful drama of her earthly life. Learn how she works in our lives today to draw us ever closer to her Divine Son.

Nurses Corner - Important news and updates

Nurse Notes for February 28, 2020

School COVID-19 Guidance Memo

Please read the attached memo from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health which was received by all schools in Massachusetts on February 24, 2020. Of particular importance is the section titled: Precautions to help prevent colds and flu can help protect against COVID-19. It would be helpful to save the link to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) website as well as the link to the DPH (Department of Public Health) website which is updated constantly with the latest guidance. This is the best way to receive accurate data from the scientific community.

If you have further questions please call the SAS Health Office between 10:00-2:00, Monday - Friday.

St. Anna's is an Allergy Friendly School
