Uluru- An aboringinal perspective
Two boys were travelling through the area and began building a large mound with the mud by the side of a lake. Once the pile was high enough they began to slide down the side of it, forming the gullies in the side of Uluru that we can see today. (Account from the yankantjatjara people)
Uluru- A geographical persepective
Uluru was formed 300 million years ago when sand piled up on the bottom of an inland sea that once covered the middle of Australia at Bass Straight. Over the years the wind and rain have beaten against the rock weathering it.
