Howdy Hounds!
It was another fantastic week to be a Huggins Hound! The weather outside surely did not disappoint. Thank you to everyone that joined us for Parent Orientation. If you did not have a chance to attend, teachers will be posting their presentations on Canvas for you to review. Please let them know if you have any questions about the information that was shared. I also want to thank FOH for a very successful open meeting! It was great to see so many parents eager to get involved and support our amazing school.
We have had lots a questions about the delivery of our much anticipated Huggins/Morgan shirt and House Color shirts. I have personally reached out to the vendor. They shared they are experiencing shipping delays but hoping to get everything to us in the very near future.
As we have shared, please remember that we are opening our doors at 6:45am to assist with the car rider line. We are starting to see fewer and fewer cars utilizing our early drop-off between 6:45-7:00. Please remember that students are counted tardy at 7:30am. If you arrive after 7:30, you will most likely need to park and walk your child into the building to check into the tardy kiosk if there are no staff members outside to gather students. It is very important that we have our hounds present and ready to learn at 7:30. We appreciate your help with this!
Here's to a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Bethany Cunningham
Principal

Grandparents Day
This Sunday is National Grandparents Day! According to National Today, Grandparents and children have a special connection that is proven to both make grandparents live longer, and also make children more emotionally resilient. Grandparents Day is an opportunity to treasure that connection and spend some quality family time together if you are able to do so. Creating a special card, making a video, FaceTime, or simply sending cute pictures are some other ways your family can express their love and gratitude on this special day.
As always, if you have concerns about your child, don’t hesitate to reach out to me via phone or email so I can best meet the needs of your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Evans

School Meals...
Lamar CISD has announced its participation in the Seamless Summer Option for the 2021-2022 school year, offering healthy meals every school day to all students at no cost.
Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.
While no application or eligibility determination is required for our students to receive free meals this school year, income eligibility requirements will likely resume in the 2022-2023 school year.
Extra lunch entrees and a la carte items are not included with the no cost meals.
