A Special Applause to...
PD on the Fly...
Thank you for digging in on the students of Cultural Responsive Practices. I know your research and reflection will create change in the lives of students who come to us from economically strained homes. In the Cost of Poverty Experience we lived what the author described as, "The mentally overwhelming nature of poverty might seem daunting to policymakers—just one more challenging aspect of an already complex problem."
So what is the solution? As you leave for the summer think about what you can do. I know from the COPE that relationships matter. This is something educators in this building have know, lived, and perfected for years. Enjoy!

Responding to Your Questions on How to Help...
Several staff members have asked how to help the Whitmer family as they process the tragedy of losing their mother, Laura. I have been in communication with community members who are close with the family. They have set up two options to help that you can donate to, if you would like. The first was a meal train that is full through September. The organizer said at this time they are not organizing meals past that date. The second is a donation for a laundry service. If you are interested, you can Venmo or Pay Pal money to the organizer. The information is below. Thank you to everyone who supported the family this week.

Furniture
With the number of people leaving the Greene School, I know many of you would like to have furniture from their rooms. I am writing this to inform you that you may not place dibs on or take furniture from another room. With that being said, I will develop a process that honors the current staff at Greene to be able to take furniture rather than just giving it to new staff who have never worked in the building. Please understand that if you would like furniture, you will also be giving up furniture. What will not happen is for classrooms to be left with incomplete furniture sets that will require us to purchase additional seating for students.
Walking track requests
Now that the weather is nice, many of you want to be outside with your team. Please let the office know your plans either by email, calling, or writing on the whiteboard in the office. We need to know when you will be going out and then we will let you know if there is any overlap with other teams. Thank you!
