As I navigate through my first year at Holly Academy I have been truly impressed with the events and initiatives that are naturally part of our culture. "Number Sense November" and "March is Reading Month" stand out as pillars of our school year. The coordination of both takes significant hours of planning by our staff. Mrs. Mison and the math department plan fun activities for November and Mrs. Craven, Mrs. Allen, and the ELA committee spearhead the initiatives for March. In tandem with our reading activities, Mrs. Melero plans and organizes our Scholastic Book Fair. I appreciate that our staff consistently puts the needs of our Huskies first by highlighting academics combined with fun activities! It's great to be a Husky!

I am crossing my fingers in hope that spring will start soon. We are all looking forward to warmer weather! Here are some upcoming events:

  • For all 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students, we will host our first Friday Fun Night on March 10th from 6pm-10pm. Any students attending will sign up for three different Friday Fun activities they are interested in. Activities will include 3-3 basketball tournaments, volleyball tournaments, arts and crafts, board games, a video game room, karaoke, and a movie room. There is no cost for this event. Food will be available to purchase at the concession stand and all items are $1.00. All 5th and 6th grade parents are welcome to attend and help with either supervision or planning. The event will start at 6:00pm in the auditorium. If a student plans on attending they are required to stay for the entire night. Any questions please email Chris Kidd at kiddc@hollyacademy.org.

  • All students in 3rd-8th grade will be taking spring assessments. This includes PSAT and M-Step. More information about spring assessments will be coming out shortly.

  • Data drops were conducted by all of our teachers and intervention staff to discuss strategies and differentiated instructional techniques for every child at Holly Academy. Thank you to Tina Craven for running the data drops.

  • March is Reading Month activities are occurring daily to encourage reading. Please try to motivate your child to spend some time reading at home.

  • Thank you to Mrs. Melero for running the book fair. It was awesome and very well attended!
