Principal's Message
Dear Bethany Families,
THANK YOU to those who were able to come to Back-to-School Night! We are grateful for the time to connect staff and families AND families with each other. ❤️
If you weren't able to make it, don't worry! HERE is a link to my presentation. I will be asking staff to share their information with their families for your reference.
I would like to have your feedback about our Back-to-School Night whether you attended or not. It will help us in our future planning. Please take a minute to fill out this short survey. 🙂
Here's a video for some New School Year inspiration. It's only 3 minutes and very worth your time! After you view it, ask your child (and yourself), "What is your hope for this year?"

With gratitude,
Ms. Rosenquist 🌹

Are you looking for a fun way to volunteer at school?
Art Lit is always in need of more volunteers.
Can you hand out papers and use scissors? You do not need to be artistic to help. The lessons and art projects are already prepared. It is so much fun to watch the kids get excited about doing an art project and to see their creative abilities shine. If you are comfortable presenting the lesson to the class, there is a training each month we do an art lit lesson. If you are not comfortable with that, you can just show up the day of the lesson and help out. The kids love it when the art lit cart shows up in their classroom.
Contact Julie at julie.hardy@gmail.com or Danielle at dlsflagg@gmail.com if you are interested in helping. There will also be a table with more information during Back to School Night.

The Jog-A-Thon is just 3 weeks away!
We will kick off Bethany's biggest fundraiser of the year next Friday, September 22nd. A handout will be sent home with all the information you will need. There will also be more information available on the BSPTO’s Jog-a-thon web page to answer any questions you might have about this year and any changes.
So get your running shoes ready and mark the date on your calendars: Friday, October 6th. Stay tuned for start times and sign up opportunities to volunteer in your child’s tent, or cheer them on from the sidelines.
What’s the theme this year? We won’t officially unveil that until next week, but if your child has heard of a pixel they might be pretty excited for this year!
If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering please reach out to Melissa Lasiw at bobcatsmom32@gmail.com

Parking Lot Pro Tips
Each day our parking lot arrival and dismissal is getting smoother and more efficient!
Thank you! 🙂
- The most helpful thing drivers can do is make sure your CAR SIGN is hanging on your rearview mirror as you enter the parking lot. This helps staff direct traffic and load cars quickly. (Kindergarten families have a BLUE sign and everyone else has RED). 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are picked up in the LOWER parking lot, so drivers need to get in the far right lane and make the big loop. 🙂
- We appreciate your patience and CAUTION with so many children and families moving in all directions.
Label Your Child's Clothes
THIS YEAR, we are requesting that families put NAMES on all jackets, sweatshirts, hats, gloves (if possible), lunchboxes, backpacks, and water bottles. You may choose to only put your child's last name and that's ok too! If something is labeled with a name, it is always returned to the owner.
This summer we took 6 HUGE garbage bags full of clothes to the Beaverton Clothes Closet from Bethany. I love supporting our community resource centers, but I also want your children to have the things you have provided for them. Last year we sent out photos, videos, reminders, even tables in the lobby with beautifully-displayed rainbow order clothing for students and families to locate their lost items (to little avail).
Breakfast / Lunch Service
If your child eats breakfast at school, the doors open at 7:40 am. How to pay for meals:
- Bring in cash or a check in an envelope with your child's name on it
- Pay online through the SchoolCafé website
