YSIE April Meeting: Small but Mighty
We had a smaller crowd at our Spring YSIE meeting in Albert Lea but folks in attendance had the chance to talk further about Summer Reading Programs, assessed the collection of both statewide and regional statistics, and got see the wonderful space that Albert Lea has dedicated to Teens and Children alike. Thanks so much to ALPL for hosting! To help select our next meeting date, click the banner below.

Once Upon a Reader - Cow Visits Southeast Minnesota!
Cow, who's been making her way around Minnesota visiting libraries and kids of all ages, popped down to the Southeast corner in mid-May. She took in the sights and sounds of Owatonna, Faribault, Plainview, and Red Wing and was happy to spend time with more than 1000 children and almost 150 adults! Reading stories, singing songs, drawing pictures, and generally just having a moo-velous time, Cow was certainly a hit with her fans. After taking a well-deserved vacation at an undisclosed location, she'll be back soon in June 22-24 with stops in Rochester, Dodge Center, Spring Valley, Austin and Albert Lea. Don't miss your chance to see this cow-ptivating star!
Camp Read-a-Lot 2015 Registration Open
A professional development opportunity for those who work with children's literature, focusing specifically on grades 2-5. Our Campers have a chance to read from a set list of books prior to Camp and then spend the day discussing the books. They'll also have a chance to hear from Minnesota children's author Douglas Wood, and a panel from the Diversity & Outreach Round Table (DORT) on diversity in children's literature. Attendees also have the opportunity to mix and mingle with like-minded colleagues from around the region, enjoy good food in a stunning location, and can earn up to 25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as well!
